Dancing Fun
No human society has denied itself the excitement and pleasure of dancing.

 The five Ballroom Dances: Modern Waltz, Tango, Viennese Waltz, Slow Foxtrot, and Quickstep, are danced the world over both socially and in DanceSport competitions.

Ballet had its earliest beginnings in  lavish entertainments given in the courts of Renaissance Italy.

Square and Round Dancing
It is difficult to trace exactly the roots of our modern square and round dancing, for they are deep and varied. The history goes back to our English and French ancestors, but there are traces of Scottish, Scandinavian,  and other elements in these fun types of social dancing.

Swing and Lindy Hop are frequently described as a jazz or street dance. Its development was mostly based on jazz.
